Under European influence, New Spain saw emerge a rich musical culture between the 16th and 18th centuries. After recording the repertoire of the nuns of the Mexico Incarnation Convent (PSAL031, Treasures of Convents), the Vox Cantoris ensemble here unveils the polyphonic treasures sung by the Mexico Cathedral choir, that add to the hieratic Spanish style the fervor of the New World.
